Storing Between Closings: When Move-Out and Move-In Don't Line Up

You have four realistic options: negotiate a rent-back with the buyer, move twice, move into a storage unit and out of it again, or load one container and let somebody else hold it for you.

Rent-backs work when the buyer is flexible, but they often are not. Moving twice means paying movers or renting a truck two separate times and touching every box four times. The container approach exists because the gap is usually only a few weeks.

We deliver a 16-foot Mobi to your current driveway before move-out. You load it once, at your own pace, in the days leading up to closing. On or before your move-out date, we pick up the sealed container and store it at our Mansfield yard on State Route 13.

When the new place is ready — a week later, a month later — we deliver the same sealed container to the new address and you unload it directly into the house. Your belongings are touched exactly twice: in, and out.

Residential rentals start at $249 per month and bill month-to-month, so a three-week gap is a single month of rent rather than a contract. Delivery, pickup, and re-delivery to the new address are all included within 35 miles of Mansfield, which covers Ontario, Lexington, Shelby, Ashland, Wooster, Mount Vernon, Marion, and Richland County.

Compare that to two truck rentals, extra mover hours for a second load-out, and a few weeks of hotel or short-term rental costs, and the math usually settles the question quickly.

Because the container gets sealed and reopened at a new address, a little planning at load time saves real work later:

Closing dates move, so we plan for it. Give us a heads-up when your date firms up and we schedule the re-delivery around it; within Richland County and the surrounding towns that is typically a few business days' notice, and same-week is common.
